Everything You Need to Know About Halloween at Gröna Lund 2019

Everything You Need to Know About Halloween at Gröna Lund 2019

Just as last year, I’ve visited Halloween at Gröna Lund. I think this is the third or fourth year they open up Stockholm’s biggest amusement park during Halloween and invite their visitors to get amazed by all the beautiful decorations and get scared in one of the haunted houses. I brought my cousin Mimmi and after spending a full day at the amusement park during Halloween (and the fact that I’ve actually worked at Gröna Lund a few years ago,…

Travel Diary: Oskarshamn

Travel Diary: Oskarshamn

With this blog post, I’m finally done with all the travel diaries from this summer! It took some time, but this means that I finally can focus on publishing the “fun” blog post with tips and things. Those are the ones I enjoy writing the most, but I have to say that in a year when I look back, I always find the travel diaries more fun to read, haha. What do you enjoy reading the most, travel diaries or…

Autumn Markets in Stockholm 2019

Autumn Markets in Stockholm 2019

It’s freezing in the mornings and I’ve got my first cold and that can only mean one thing – autumn is here. I’ve got mixed emotions about the autumn since it’s a season I both love (cozy sweaters, candlelight and millions of cups of tea!) and hate (wet, cold and dark!) in the same time. I do believe everything in life gets better with a positive mindset so this year I’m totally going to embrace all the great things about…

Travel Diary: Leksand

Travel Diary: Leksand

I spent exactly 3 minutes at home after Gotland before it was time to go on my next trip! I got home, switched bags and then jumped into my parents’ car and drove to Leksand with them and my boyfriend. We have visited Leksand every summer for as long as I can remember since there’s a varpa competition there we really like to compete in, and that was the reason we went to Leksand this year as well. Here’s what…

Rosendals Trädgårdskafé – Stockholm, Sweden

Rosendals Trädgårdskafé – Stockholm, Sweden

I’ve had this post as a draft for three months so I think it’s time to publish it now, haha. This is a place you can’t miss in Stockholm during summertime, but it’s great all year round! It’s a garden located on the island Djurgården in the central part of Stockholm and it has a great greenhouse with a café inside. The island Djurgården has been in possession by the crown since the 15th century and there is a castle…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 3 & 4

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 3 & 4

DAY 3 After a night which had not offered enough sleep, we headed out for our last full day at Medletidsveckan on Gotland. We started the day with hanging around the medieval market and watched some of the shows in the area with everything from air acrobatics to humans swallowing fire. During the tournament the night before there was a jester group called Narrarna which performed and as I mentioned in the travel diary, I laughed so hard. I saw…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 2

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 2

DAY 2 We started our second day at Gotland during Medeltidsveckan with dressing up in our medieval outfits and head to the ruin Helge And to listen to a lecture about female warriors during medieval time. Such a great lecture and I was really pleased to be able to go into Helge And which usually is locked. The view from the top of the tower was just amazing! After the lecture, we walked to the medieval market area in the…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 1

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 1

Let’s take a break from those heavy Auschwitz-posts by take a look at my second trip to Gotland this summer! During the first trip, I went there to have a vacation with my family and to compete in the Swedish Championship in varpa. That time we drove around pretty much the whole island, but this time it was completely different. This time I went there with my two friends Mimmi and Madeleine and we only stayed in Visby to be…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 10 & 11

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 10 & 11

DAY 10 I spent most of the day at the competition site for the Swedish Championships in varpa as the day before, but this time only as a spectator and not as a participant. They were competing in an individual discipline this day and Stina and I sat beside cheering for our fellow teammates. In the evening, we drove into Visby to get dinner at an Italian place called Isola Bella before taking a little stroll. I’ve said it about…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 9

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 9

DAY 9 The day prior, my two teammates and I had managed to qualify for the semi-final in the Swedish Championships in varpa. Varpa is a precision sport where you throw a “stone” (=the varpa) at a stick and I’ve been competing in it since I was just a kid. We won the semi-final and in the afternoon, it was time for the final. The rules in varpa are quite simple. The team who has the “stone” closes to the…
