Travel Diary: Gotland Day 10 & 11

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 10 & 11

DAY 10 I spent most of the day at the competition site for the Swedish Championships in varpa as the day before, but this time only as a spectator and not as a participant. They were competing in an individual discipline this day and Stina and I sat beside cheering for our fellow teammates. In the evening, we drove into Visby to get dinner at an Italian place called Isola Bella before taking a little stroll. I’ve said it about…

Travel Diary: Kraków Day 2

The excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mine in this post is sponsored by EnjoyPolen.com DAY 2 Our second day in Kraków started quite early with us getting on a bus which was taking us to Wieliczka Salt Mine. It’s actually one of the first sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage list and I got the opportunity to visit it together with EnjoyPolen and got a really great tour with a Swedish speaking guide. I’m absolutely going to write more about the salt…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 9

DAY 9 The day prior, my two teammates and I had managed to qualify for the semi-final in the Swedish Championships in varpa. Varpa is a precision sport where you throw a “stone” (=the varpa) at a stick and I’ve been competing in it since I was just a kid. We won the semi-final and in the afternoon, it was time for the final. The rules in varpa are quite simple. The team who has the “stone” closes to the…

Travel Diary: Västerås

Travel Diary: Västerås

Okay, I just have to share these photos from Västerås. Usually, I try to publish my travel diaries somewhat chronological, but I have to make an exception now and write about a trip I did this Thursday first. Photographing at a field of sunflowers has been a dream of mine for I don’t know how long, but I have never found one nearby no matter how much time I’ve spent on Google – until now. I found a place called…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 7 & 8

DAY 7 The weather hadn’t really been with us during our Gotland visit and according to all the weather apps, this day was going to be our best shot at a beach day. Our main plan was to hang out at one of my new favorite places on Gotland I discovered last year, Surflogiet, but we didn’t do much more than just sit down at the beach before we changed our mind. It was so windy and cold, and since…

Travel Diary: Kraków Day 1

Travel Diary: Kraków Day 1

I’m home again from Kraków. I went there quite spontaneously with my mother and my grandmother on a four-day trip. This was my first time in Poland and as you surely know, I always get a little extra excited when I get to explore a “new” country and Kraków was a really good start! DAY 1 We arrived in Kraków early in the morning and didn’t do much more than leaving our bags at the hotel before we head out…

First of all, thank you so much for all the wise comments on my last post! Honestly got a bit overwhelmed about the support I got, and determination in saving our planet! You’re awesome! ❤ So, while I’m busy exploring the streets of Kraków (you do not forget to follow me on Instagram where I post bits and pieces on my stories, right? @swedishpassport) I’ll continue updating you on my Gotland trip. DAY 6 All the weather apps said that…

Travel Diary: Gränna Day 2

Travel Diary: Gränna Day 2

Before I continue with my Gotland posts I think it’s time to look back on my second day in Gränna. We started the day with breakfast at our hotel in Trehörna before driving back to Gränna. Good thing we started driving early because we had to stop at one point because a baby fox was blocking the road. Would have been the most legit reason ever to be late though, haha. If you read my first post from this trip…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 5

Time flies and I really need to hurry up with my Gotland updates! I got home from Gotland this Sunday and are actually going back there in two weeks again. The plan was to stay home during these two weeks to catch up with life and do all those things I usually don’t have time with but that changed since my mom called me yesterday and spontaneously booked a trip for us to Kraków this weekend, haha! So I’ll really…

Travel Diary: Gotland Day 3 & 4

DAY 3 Don’t let the photos below fool you, day 3 on Gotland was a rainy day. Just as day 2, it started in Stånga at the “Gotland Olympics” Stångaspelen, but the difference this time was that I was competing as well. I competed with my dad and we finished third in our group which meant that we just missed the semi-final, but I honestly don’t think I’ve been happier about that since it meant that we could get out…
