Time flies and our little girl is already 6 months old.
That means I’ve been a dog owner for about four months and that has, of course, changed my life but honestly not as much as I thought it would. Everything takes a little bit more time and needs more planning when you have a dog, but we haven’t had to sacrifice anything and can still have the same lifestyle as we had before we got Stina.
Stina is a Staffordshire Bullterrier which is a breed that enjoys both being active outside and chill out on the couch at home, as long as they get to hang out with their humans. Since Stina comes from from my boyfriend’s mother’s kennel we got to name her in the pedigree as well so her name is “Dreamingstaffs Adventures Roo” since our plan for her has always been to bring her on our adventures – which we have done!
Her first trip was actually from the kennel in Hillared to our home in Stockholm when she was 8 weeks (which I missed when I was sick). After that, she’s been back to Hillared with my boyfriend once and has traveled with me to Tystberga, Trosa, Vaxholm, Landsort, Fjäderholmarna, and Sigtuna. Not bad for a 6-month-old puppy!
I like to see myself as a pro on this “travel with a dog”-thing by now and are actually writing a blog post with some of the things I’ve learned. So if you got any questions about traveling with a dog, please write me a comment and I’ll make sure to put it in the blog post!
